Motocity Provides Nahlous with Lifeline Ride at Goulburn

Omega Racing Team’s Superbike rider Jonathan “JJ” Nahlous will compete on a Honda CBR1000RR at the upcoming Australian Superbike Championship round in Goulburn, thanks to the support of team sponsor Motocity.

A major technical setback in testing at The Bend last week left the Omega Appliances backed team facing an impossible turnaround ahead of the Goulburn round. Thanks to swift action and the support of Motocity, a competitive alternative was secured to keep Nahlous on track.

The move underpins Nahlous’s versatility as a rider. Having recently tested on a Triumph Moto2 machine in Spain and delivering consistent top-ten performances throughout his rookie season on the Yamaha YZF-R1, he has shown the ability to adapt quickly to different machinery, a skill that now positions him well to transition onto the Honda for the penultimate round of the season.

He’s worked incredibly hard to be sitting seventh in the championship in his rookie year, and it was important not to let this setback undo that progress. The remainder of the Omega Racing Team will continue to compete on Yamaha machinery, with Nahlous the sole rider making the temporary switch.

The Australian Superbike Championship resumes at One Raceway in Goulburn, NSW on October 3rd-5th.
