Addicted to Track are excited to announce the signing of former Australian Supersport 300 Champion Marcus Hamod, to contest the Australian Superbike Championship's inaugural summer season in the Next Gen Supersport category.
News of the signing comes as the championship prepares for its first full-field round at The Bend Motorsport Park in November, with the supporting categories joining the Superbike class for the remainder of the season.
For 18-year-old Hamod, the move into the Next Gen class presents an opportunity to reset and rebuild following a challenging period in his racing career, with health issues having brought his previous Superbike season to a premature conclusion.
Having recently taken the opportunity to return to competition aboard the Unitek Racing R1 at Phillip Island, Hamod will now turn his attention to a full season campaign with Addicted to Track.
Quote from Marcus Hamod:
“I'm super happy to be joining Addicted to Track, I think this will be a really good season for both myself and the team. We've had a couple of test days at One Raceway which have given quite a bit of positive feedback, and I'm ready to get stuck into the season at The Bend.”
Quote from Team Principal, Mark McGregor:
“We're very excited to have Marcus on the team. The move to the Next Gen category will give him the right opportunity to hone his craft as he returns to full fitness. Marcus' skill and professionalism are the perfect fit for the future direction of Addicted to Track, and we're looking forward to supporting him in his long-term development."
The Australian Superbike Championship's Summer Season continues at The Bend Motorsport Park in South Australia on November 13-15.
